If I am to be honest, growing up I did not have an orientation about STEM. I only knew about science and engineering careers because it was all around me. In high school, my teachers would ask, "Science or Arts class??" and I was always curious about what they meant. It wasn't until my final class that I realized I did not like Physics and Chemistry. Can you believe that??

More Gist: Who gave me first STEM Orientation?
You know, I did not decide to become an engineer until I completed high school. I was among those people who did not know what I would become in the future. What made me choose engineering was it was all around me. Every school holiday, I loved going to my dad's office and saw him do engineering, it intrigued me. But I still did not like physics and chemistry. What did I do? I searched for the easiest engineering career and found Environmental Engineering but unfortunately for me, I got to do more physics and chemistry. At the end of the day, I actually appreciated physics more. I am a COREN licensed engineer today and I am still figuring out and working towards the STEM career of my dream but remember I had to start somewhere.
