Award-winning civil engineer, Courtney Kelly, has made a name for herself as a well-respected construction management professional and self-published children’s book author. She earned bachelor’s degrees in civil engineering and math as well as a master’s degree in civil engineering from Southern Methodist University. Courtney also holds an MBA from Lamar University and is a licensed professional engineer. In 2023 she was selected as an ENR Texas & Louisiana Top Young Professional. The experience of evacuating from Hurricane Katrina during her sophomore year of high school sparked her curiosity in civil engineering. Courtney transformed her story into her books, Celeste Saves the City and Celeste Tunnels Underground, which encourage readers to pursue careers in civil engineering and construction.

Zeinab El-Sayegh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Automotive and Mechatronics Engineering at Ontario Tech University. She currently serves as the Co-Director of the Tire-Terrain Interaction Simulation (TTIS) and Truck Driving & Vehicle Dynamics (TDVS) Laboratories. Previously, she worked as a Vehicle Analyst at Volvo Group Trucks Technology in Sweden, and as a Combustion Analyst at Siemens Gas Turbines in Montreal. Her research focuses on transportation, vehicle design for on-road and off-road applications, and autonomous vehicle simulation. She is actively involved in tire-terrain interaction research in collaboration with Volvo Group Trucks Technology and NSERC.
Lois Arokoyo is a Project Manager with the Ministry of Highways, where her work bridges technical excellence and community impact. Trained as an engineer, Lois’ passions lie at the intersection of her career and gender equality in STEM. Beyond her professional role, she has been deeply involved in community service and advocacy, as she led her first STEM Girls Drive in collaboration with the United Nations Association in Canada, inspiring women and girls to pursue science and technology. Currently, Lois is a fellow at the fifth cohort of the Black Diplomats Academy, where she is learning to shape the STEM ecosystem through global action, diplomacy, and economic development. She has been featured in news outlets such as CTV and other publications, and remains dedicated to mentoring young girls in STEM.
Ore Sofola is a Brand and Creative Director, Multimedia Producer, and founder of O Media Studios. She has spent more than ten years shaping stories for global teams across tech, social impact, and creative industries, including Andela and Mediafly. Ore currently leads multimedia storytelling at VisionSpring, where she brings ideas to life through film, photography, and design. As a creative professional who has built her career in tech and other male-dominated spaces, Ore knows the power of showing up authentically and owning your narrative. She is excited to help women in STEM craft personal brands that reflect who they are and where they are going.
Dr. Lataisia Jones is a Program Director at the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS), previously serving as a Scientific Review Officer at NINDS. With thirteen years of research experience in molecular biology, biomedical sciences, and neuroscience, she also brings over a decade of leadership in STEM outreach and diversity advocacy. Formerly the Senior Ethics Specialist at the American Society for Microbiology, she advanced ethical policies and scientific integrity across ASM publications. .
A 3D printed statue of Dr. Jones is included in the IF/THEN Traveling Exhibit alongside 120+ other remarkable women in STEM. The exhibit has been displayed at NorthPark Center in Dallas, the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, DC, the NIH, and MIT. As an AAAS IF/THEN Ambassador, she inspires girls in STEM through media, education, and national exhibitions. Dr. Jones made history as the first African American to earn a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences at Florida State University and continues to serve communities through her leadership in SISTUHS, Incorporated, her non-profit (Changing Faces, Inc.), and her STEM Consulting Company (Hey Dr. Tay, LLC).
Lois Adeyemo is a Civil and Environmental Engineer, STEM Mentor, and Lead Mentor of Adelois Consulting, where she equips early-career women in STEM with clarity, confidence, and career direction. With over eight years of experience in water and wastewater infrastructure design, environmental projects, and career development, she also brings strong skills in project coordination, curriculum design, public speaking, and digital content creation. Lois co-founded AfriteQ Academy, impacting hundreds of students through hands-on STEM education. She has held leadership roles in women-in-STEM organizations, including APWEN Lagos and the Society of Women Engineers, championing mentorship, outreach, and opportunities for girls and women in STEM.
Adenike Adeiga is an environmental scientist and sustainability leader whose work connects policy, community action, and evidence-based climate solutions. She serves as a Hub Lead at Sustainable Ocean Alliance, where she supports youth engagement, ocean advocacy, and restoration initiatives. Her experience spans stakeholder engagement, technical sustainability reporting, environmental education, and climate policy analysis. She has also led community-based projects focused on conservation, environmental literacy, and climate resilience. She works at the intersection of science, advocacy, and public service and is deeply committed to empowering women and young professionals to lead in STEM and sustainability spaces.
Women in Aerospace Canada (WIA-C) is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing, supporting, and connecting women and allies across Canada’s aerospace and advanced manufacturing sectors.
