A little hello can start
a whole sisterhood.
What if the women who just get it were right around the corner? Bring Sisters in STEM together in your city, on campus, or online, and create a space to connect beyond the classroom and workplace.
- Connected by STEM, united by sisterhood.
The idea behind a Circle
A smaller space for more meaningful connections.
A Sisters in STEM Circle is a local or virtual gathering where women studying, working, or finding their way in STEM can meet, talk openly, share experiences, and make real friendships.
Think less formal networking, more “I finally found my people.” Each Circle can reflect the interests and needs of the Sisters who gather.
Because sometimes, all it takes is one Sister saying, “come sit with us.”

How to get started
You bring the hello.
We'll talk about the how.
Starting a Circle begins with a simple idea and a willingness to bring people together.
01
Imagine your Circle
Think about the Sisters you’d like to connect and what kind of gathering would feel meaningful.
02
Tell us your idea
Reach out with your city or campus, preferred format, and what you’d love to create.
03
Explore next steps together
Our team can discuss your idea and what it could look like within Sisters in STEM.
Just exploring? That’s okay. You don’t need a venue, a full team, or a detailed plan to begin the conversation.
The idea behind a Circle
You don't need to know everyone to bring someone together.
If you’re a woman in STEM in Canada who loves meaningful conversations and believes in community over competition, we’d love to hear your idea.
- You enjoy connecting people and making others feel welcome.
- You want to build community on campus, locally, or virtually.
- You're ready to bring a little Big Sister Energy to your corner of Canada.
Let’s make it happen, Sis
Your next circle could start with one hello.
Tell us where you’re based and what kind of Circle you’re imagining. Start the conversation through an email and use the subject “Starting a Sisters in STEM Circle.”
Curious, Sis?
Here’s what to know before you reach out.
Does my Circle need to be in person?
No. You can propose an in-person Circle, a virtual gathering, or a mix of both. Share what makes sense for you.
Do I need experience running events?
You don’t need to have everything figured out to express interest. Tell us what you’d like to create, and we can discuss what’s involved.
Can I start a Circle on my campus?
Yes, a campus-based Circle is one idea you can propose. Include your institution and who you’d like to bring together when you contact us.
Is my Circle automatically approved?
No. Sending an idea starts a conversation with our team. Circle activities and any use of the Sisters in STEM name would need to be agreed on first.
