Big Sister WCW Spotlight: Meet Lisa Carrington
At Adelois Consulting, our Big Sister WCW Spotlight celebrates women in STEM whose journeys, leadership, and lessons can inspire the next generation. This week, we are pleased to spotlight Lisa Carrington, NHSA, NCSO, Health Safety Security & Wellbeing Lead (HSSW) at Egis Canada.
With more than 20 years of leadership experience across the public and private sectors, Lisa’s career spans occupational health and safety, engineering, infrastructure, and construction. In her current work, she supports the Pearson Airport Accelerator Program, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to strengthen safety governance, manage risk, and create healthier, high-performing workplaces.
For Lisa, choosing a career in STEM was rooted in a desire to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. She sees occupational health and safety as more than compliance. It is an opportunity to apply science, technology, engineering, and critical thinking to solve problems and protect people.
Her journey has also required resilience. Working in industries where women have historically been underrepresented, Lisa learned the importance of continuous learning, mentorship, professional development, confidence, and perseverance.
Big Sister Advice
Her Big Sister advice to girls and early-career women is simple: believe in yourself, ask questions, seek mentors, and take opportunities that challenge you. She also encourages women to build meaningful relationships and lift others as they grow.
Lisa’s story reminds us that representation matters, mentorship matters, and diverse leadership has the power to create safer workplaces and stronger communities.
