SiS Win: Meet Chizobam Favour Okafor-Chibuike — Building with Purpose
At Sisters in STEM, we love celebrating women who are building careers with curiosity, intention, and the confidence to explore where their skills can take them. This SiS Win celebrates Chizobam Favour Okafor-Chibuike, a Chemical Engineering graduate from Lagos State University who is combining engineering, leadership, project management, and creativity.
Meet Chizobam
Chizobam graduated from Lagos State University with First Class Honours and a CGPA of 4.52/5.00.
Her STEM journey has been shaped by curiosity, continuous learning, and a desire to solve real-world problems. Throughout university, she developed interests that extended beyond the classroom, building experience through academic, volunteer, and leadership opportunities.
Her exposure spans electrical engineering, renewable energy, procurement, and project coordination, giving her the opportunity to see how different areas of STEM work together to create more efficient systems and practical solutions.
Engineering Meets Leadership
Alongside her technical interests, Chizobam has continued to develop her strengths in leadership, teamwork, and project management.
For her, engineering is not only about understanding technical concepts. It is also about coordinating people, ideas, and resources to move projects from concept to impact.
That passion led her to create Projects By Zobam, a personal brand focused on creativity, project management, and meaningful impact.
Building Beyond the Degree
Chizobam’s journey reflects an important reminder for young women in STEM: your degree can open the door, but your curiosity can take you in many directions.
She values mentorship and hopes to use her own experiences to encourage other young women to pursue STEM with greater confidence.
As she continues building her career, Chizobam is creating space for both her technical and creative strengths to grow.
